The CROP Walk

On Saturday, October 16, 2010, 35 members of Aptos UMC joined with other walkers from churches and non-profit agencies in Santa Cruz County area to raise money for Second Harvest Food Bank and Church World Service.25% of the money raised stays here in Santa Cruz County and goes to Second Harvest Food Bank. 75% of the money raised goes to Church World Service, and is used to help people in Afganistan, for example, where the Methodist Church does not have a local operation.
This year over 100 people showed up to walk. An exciting fact is that the Aptos UMC people were able to raise about $2,900. This amount is more than was raised altogether by the CROP Walk in 2009!
