The Music Programs at
Aptos UMC
Music is one of the signature features of Aptos
UMC. Whether it be the chancel choir, the bell choir, the pianists, the
violinists, the harpist, or the trios and ensembles, music is a key
foundation to our rich worship experience week after week.

The chancel
choir has been performing for many years. Recently, a special Christmas
cantata was performed.
The bell choir, Bells of Joy, started in the early 2000s. A dedicated
group of bell ringers meet every Wednesday at 4:45 p.m. with Holly to prepare. In 2010 they
were invited to play for the students at Rio del Mar Elementary School
and at the Capitola Mall.

In addition to the chancel and bell choirs, we
have many talented musicians in the congregation. Some are willing to
sing solos, or duets, or in trios. Others form special ensembles under
the direction of Susie Lewis, the music director.
Here are some
pictures of those groups.

We also have talented musicians
who play stringed instruments including the harp, the violin, viola, and
cello. On occasion, people who play the clarinet and oboe have played
during worship.

Our future is secure!
